Marriage goals

Mom and Dad at their wedding reception

Skiing in the Poconos
This weekend my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and they brought all of us kids, husbands and grandkids to the Poconos to celebrate with them. We stayed at the Camelback Resort which has an indoor water park and we all had an amazing time. Mom and dad circled the lazy river with the grandkids over a dozen times, Rinne and Gerry rocked the Flowrider, Olivia went down all the waterslides she was tall enough to go on, Laila warmed up in the hot tub in the snow, and we hung out together in the room alot.

For their anniversary dinner I surprised Mom and Dad by making reservations at a steakhouse (they had their wedding reception at a steakhouse also) called The Frogtown Chophouse which is located in the very same place they had their honeymoon. The name of the hotel changed from Antlers Lodge to Woodfield Manor, and the only original fixtures that remained were the fireplaces, but it was so special to be able to have dinner with the entire family in the place they had their honeymoon 40 years ago.

It was such a great weekend, and I am so blessed to be part of this family. I feel that my parents raised us in a way that clearly reflects of their love for one another, and it's my goal to do the same.

Lazy river!
